Baseball Musings had a link this weekend to the story of San Diego State sophomore pitcher Stephen Strasburg, who turned in a phenomenal performance on Friday night: a complete game one-hit shutout of Utah in which he walked one batter and struck out 23.
Yeah, you read that right. 23.
Strasburg struck out at least two batters in every inning and at one point recorded thirteen consecutive outs via strikeout. The only hit he allowed was a single to center by Michael Beltran leading off the sixth inning.
