This Week in Bobbleheads – Week 9

In the week just passed we have witnessed the debut of Matt Wieters with Baltimore, a President’s bobblehead stuck at customs as well as the Giants sending extra Tim Lincecums to their farm team in Norwich, CT (I got 5). Let’s see what this week’s lineup brings shall we?

Florence Freedom 6/2/09 Barack Obama – First 1,000 – Let’s see if this one actually is on time!!!

Eau Claire Express 6/3/09 Trax (Mascot) – First 1,000 – Hmm express trains run on trax (tracks), I get it now.

Trenton Thunder 6/3/09 Brett Gardner – First 2,000 6 and up – One of the few bobbleheads I’ve ever seen having the player sliding to a base.

Madison Mallards 6/4/09 Maynard G. Mallard (Bratwurst)(Mascot) – If he’s actually holding the bratwurst, you gotta figure he’s hungry for a win that day.

West Michigan Whitecaps 6/5/09 George Kell – First 1,000 – This was supposed to honor him with the day and he was to be there to sign as well. The baseball community lost a great man!!!

Wilmington BlueRocks 6/5/09 Everett Teaford – First 1,000 – Teaford’s second year at the Quarry and it gets him a bobblehead.

Frederick Keys 6/6/09 Blaine Young – Local TV personality.

Gary-Southshore Railcats 6/6/09 Taylor Townsend – First 1,000 – During his tenure he became the franchise’s all-time career leader in home runs (39), runs batted in (229) and runs scored (218). Townsend became the first RailCats player to claim Player of the Year honors after setting seven different team records in 2008.

Lancaster Jethawks 6/6/09 KaBoom (Mascot) -This time KaBoom is dressed in scrubs for a theme night. Oh Doctor.

San Diego Padres 6/6/09 Adrian Gonzalez Action Figurine – The powerful Mexican 1b shows his homerun stance.

Jacksonville Suns 6/7/09 Southpaw (Mascot) – First 3,000 – The affiliates may have changed, but the mascot stays the same.

I’ll be headed for the Gardner and Teaford bobblehead giveaways as the road show for bobbleheads continue.  Keep an eye on the hobby at .  Maybe your favorite or local team has a giveaway soon.  Come build and trade with us.
