At this point in the regular season of 2009 baseball only Major League giveaways remain, but that doesn’t mean that this part of the Bus Leagues Blog shuts down. Over the course of the promotional offseason, I’ll go through the year that was such as favorites, unusuals, and invite all of you that read here the opportunity to shate some of your favorites as well. As always it’s been a pleasure to add the collectibles aspect to this blog.
Los Angeles Dodgers 9/16/09 Manny Ramirez – First 50,000 – Manny mania demanded a curtain call, therefore a “Curtain Call” bobblehead was created, complete with rasta hair, doorag, and hands raised.
Tampa Bay Rays 9/19/09 Matt Garza Figurine – First 10,000 – The fan favorite figurine is Garza who was a mainstay in their 2008 championship run, as well as the Mexican WBC team in 2009.
San Francisco Giants 9/24/09Lou Seal (Policeman) (Mascot) – Back by popular demand, the 2nd law enforcement night was created by the Giants.
Pittsburgh Pirates 9/25/09 Paul Maholm – Maholm is one of the fortunate few to remain with Pittsburgh all season, so a bobblehead is the reward thanks to a fan vote.
Arizona Diamondbacks 9/26/09 Mark Reynolds – First 25,000 – Reynolds can thank management for trading away Tony Pena and creating a fan vote runnerup bobble of Mark who has gone homer crazy in 2009.
Cleveland Indians 9/26/09 Grady Sizemore (Diving Catch) – Sizemore shows his athletic ability even in resin.
Kansas City Royals 9/26/09 George Brett Figurine – First 20,000 – The 3rd part of their HOF Bronze statuette series.
Chicago Cubs 9/29/09 Ferguson Jenkins – First 10,000 – Fergie will almost certainly have extras made for charity toward his foundation.
St. Louis Cardinals 10/2/09 Ozzie Smith – First 25,000 – Ozzie makes one of his signature diving plays in this rendition.
