Sacramento believes in Obama in Bobbleelection

Another area of the country has spoken and Barack Obama has made a clean sweep of this year’s bobbleelections. The Rivercats are the 8th team to have such a promotion and although results were not published, I was told that the Obama bobbles ran out about 10 minutes prior to the McCains. 750 of each were distributed.

Imagine if they had Biden and Palin bobbles? I would think Palin would win since she’s better looking than Biden, haha.

Obama doesn’t need the Goldklangs to win another BobbleElection

The eyes of the nation were focused on Davenport, Iowa, on Saturday night, as Iowa’s first unofficial election ahead of the 2008 Presidential Election was held at Modern Woodmen Park prior to the Quad Cities River Bandits’ 6:00 p.m. game against the Burlington Bees.

The result of the “Bobble-Election” was an emphatic show of support for the Democratic Party, as Barack Obama defeated John McCain in a landslide, taking 1,000 votes to McCain’s 575.

“The people have spoken, and there is no question that the campaigns are watching,” said team owner Dave Heller. “As the first major straw poll being held, this unofficial election at Modern Woodmen Park will set the tone for the race that is to come. The Quad Cities have sent a clear message to the rest of the country and John McCain will have to try to overcome that.”

When the gates opened at 4:30 p.m., the River Bandits had 1,000 bobblehead dolls in the likeness of each candidate. Fans passing through the turnstiles had a simple choice: enter through the left gate to receive an Obama bobblehead, or the right gate to get a McCain bobblehead. When the 1,000th Obama bobblehead was handed out at approximately 5:15 p.m., the polls closed and Democratic candidate Barack Obama earned the River Bandits official endorsement for the 2008 Presidential Election.

“We were very impressed by the large number of fans that arrived early to Modern Woodmen Park tonight,” said team Vice President/General Manager Kirk Goodman. “It shows how much the people of the Quad Cities care about the upcoming Presidential election. Providing premium giveaways like these bobbleheads are something that we take pride in offering our fans, and there is still one bobblehead giveaway left featuring former Quad Cities outfielder Rick Ankiel on August 29.”

Obama did not have a verbal comment when asked about his resounding victory, but the Senator did not hide his ear-to-ear grin while repeatedly nodding in the affirmative and giving his supporters and enthusiastic “thumbs-up”.

OBAMA CONTINUES BOBBLECTION DOMINANCE

Barack Obama continued his dominance of Bobblection Week 2008, collecting nearly 60% of the vote on Sunday at Sioux Falls Stadium. Obama bobbleheads were selected over John McCain bobbleheads by a margin of 500 to 405, as Obama won for the fifth consecutive Bobblection. Obama has won all five states, and leads McCain 3,500 to 2,846 in total bobbleheads

Bobblection Week 2008 began on Wednesday night in New York at the home of the Hudson Valley Renegades. Obama won the first Bobblection in a narrow margin, 750 to 719. In an even closer vote on Tuesday, Obama made it two in a row, winning in Massachusetts as Brockton Rox fans gave him a 500 to 456 win. The first decisive victory for Obama came on Friday night in South Carolina when the fans of the Charleston Riverdogs overwhelmingly selected the democratic nominee 500 bobbleheads to just 360 for McCain. Obama clinched a victory in states won with a win in Minnesota on Saturday. The fans of the St. Paul Saints, despite being in the city of the Republican National Convention, selected Obama to the tune of 1250 bobbleheads to 906.

Bobblection Week 2008 will conclude with one final vote on Monday night at the Fort Myers (FL) Miracle game.

Here are the stats through the first 5:

Obama Victorious in ‘Vital’ St. Paul Saints’ Bobblection

ST. PAUL – U.S. Sen. Barack Obama handily defeated Sen. John McCain in the “Bobblection” held at Midway Stadium Saturday evening, before the St. Paul Saints beat the Fort Worth Cats 9-7. Obama’s strong showing in this important indicator of public opinion comes as his Minnesota campaign is gaining strength and momentum statewide. The Saints’ Bobblection track record cannot be questioned – in 2004, it correctly predicted the Minnesota results in the general election.

“Senator Obama is humbled that Saints fans recognize the need for real leadership to address the issues middle-class families are dealing with every day,” Obama’s Minnesota spokesman Nick Kimball said. “Saints fans are truly representative of Minnesota – hard working folks who enjoy a beautiful night of outdoor baseball.”

Obama’s strong showing – in what the McCain campaign acknowledged was a “vital contest” – came despite the strongest efforts of the McCain campaign to turn out in “full force” Saturday night.

Obama will build off the momentum gained from the Bobblection victory by continuing to build the strongest grassroots organization ever assembled in the state. Thousands of Minnesotans are invested in the campaign and are working in their own neighborhoods to bring real change and get our country back on track.

Obama will try to keep his streak alive tonight in Sioux Falls and with if he wins there he will go for the sweep tomorrow night in Fort Myers.

3 in a row for Obama in BobbleElection

If Charleston RiverDogs’ fans are any indication, then Barack Obama will be the next president of the United States.

The RiverDogs, one of the six Minor League Baseball teams of The Goldklang Group,
conducted their Bobblection on Friday, Aug. 8, as the first 1,000 fans “voted” for either Barack Obama or John McCain by accepting a bobblehead likeness of each presidential candidate.  The candidate whose bobble-likeness ran out first was declared the winner.

Earlier in the week, The Group’s Hudson Valley (NY) Renegades and the Brockton (MA) Rox held their elections and Obama walked away with a close 51.8 percent of the vote.

In Charleston, the range was much larger as Obama supporters first reached the 500 mark for their bobbleheads.  McCain fans were at 360.

Round 4 is in St. Paul Saturday.

BobbleElections have begun, Hudson Valley has spoken

The Hudson Valley Renegades were the first team to hold the Goldklang group’s 2nd ever bobbleElection and the results are in…750 for Obama, 713 for McCain.  Fans 18 and over like myself were given tickets upon entry to redeem at “voting booths” by the right field picnic area at Dutchess Stadium.  Obama claimed victory at approximately 7:40 pm after wich the remaining McCains were distributed to those who still had the raffle style tickets left.

Next stop on the campaign trail is August 7th with the Brockton Rox.  Stay tuned.
